HILDEGARD IN THE TUNNEL - performance, 's-Hertogenbosch: Three women are singing early medieval music by Hildegard von Bingen, accompanied by a sandawa-player, inside a traffic tunnel. This particular tunnel reminded me of the church I used to go to as a child, where traffic noise would sometimes echo between the pillars through the sermons and our singing. So I wanted to disturbing the traffic noise with singing for a change.
The performance was held during the Boulevard Theatre Festival, which gave it a lot of publicity and hundreds of people came to listen.
Performers: Maria Wiegers, Patries Knoot & Suzanne van der Helm, vocals, Joep Huiskamp, Sandawa.
